Google Talk April 15, 2008

Hi Everyone,

This week we will be using Google talk to have an online chat. The reason we are using Google talk to chat is that Google has a chat tool that you can embed in your own web page (and thanks to Steve I actually go it working).

We will be discussing web design. I have created a few web pages using orderd lists and definition lists to show how some simple html can mach a big difference in how things are displayed. To get started go to this web page:

The page should look similar to the following picture. Click on the link that says Create an account know in the Google talk box



Enter your gmail address into box and follow the instructions for making a Google talk account. I have already sent invitations to use Google talk to all of you using the gamil address you have previously sent me.



When you have completed your Google Talk Account creation you will get a window that looks like the following page. Under the contents tab (it should be the one that is open when google talk starts ther is a box that says Search, add, or invite. In that box type pjbenn1@gmail.com and I will add you to the group chat for the class.

Hi, everyone,

Sorry that I have been incommunicada here for a while. Three weeks ago I was in Canada, now the last two weeks I have been down with what I guess is the Brisbane flu. Those Australian bugs are tough! 

PJ, I've checked the discussions and can't find a thread. There is a way to reorder them. Also, if anyone starts one or answers one, please put in the 2008 date so we can distinguish it from last year's discussions.
